Inspiration Mid-Day
Do you have a hero? Who is your inspiration? Some days are hard to get motivated to do work or remember why we are so busy with the things we are busy with. It’s hard to always be inspired to do good works for money (at least for me), so there needs to be other motivating factors or inspirations.
I was reading about J.K. Rowling’s story on where she came from to how she got to where she is at today. That name should be familiar with you, but if you don’t know who she is, she is the author of the Harry Potter series which have sold over 500 million copies worldwide and made into multiple blockbuster movies.
Rowling didn’t come from a great family background. In fact, she described her teenage years as being unhappy. Her Mother suffered multiple sclerosis and she did not have a good relationship with her Father. She was not exceptional in school or work and had a failed marriage in which her then husband was domestically abusive towards her.
Rowling ended up raising her daughter as a single mother. Her Mother also died after 10 years of battling MS. She was depressed, jobless, single mother, and had to live on welfare while writing her first Harry Potter book.
Rowling kept writing and eventually finished her first Harry Potter book. Twelve publishers rejected her first book and Bloomsbury eventually agreed to publish it in 1997, and as we all know it, the rest is history.
When I read her story, it inspires me to not give up on what you are passionate and excited about, to battle and grind through self-doubts and adversity, and to continue to work and hope for a better future. We hope Saving For More will be inspiring and valuable to some of our readers for the betterment of your lives.
